Sponsor BSides Rocket City
BSides Rocket City is free to attend — every talk, every workshop, every village. Sponsors are how we keep it that way.
Why sponsor?
BSides Rocket City is Huntsville's community-driven information security conference, built entirely by volunteers and held Saturday, March 20, 2027 at Calhoun Community College. Nobody here draws a paycheck. Every dollar of sponsorship goes straight into the event itself.
Our tagline is "Bridging the Gap from Student to Rocket Scientist," and we mean it literally. On one Saturday, K-12 students, university students, first-time speakers, hackers, defenders, researchers, and the engineers who secure the systems that go to space all share the same hallways. Sponsoring puts your organization's name behind that — behind free education, new voices at the podium, and the next generation of people who break things, fix things, and build things in Rocket City.
If your organization hires here, builds here, or just believes the local security community is worth investing in, this is one of the most direct ways to show it.
What sponsorship supports
Sponsorship isn't abstract. It buys real things for real people:
- Keeping admission free — no ticket price, no paywall between a curious student and their first security conference
- Feeding attendees — coffee, breakfast, and lunch so nobody has to leave campus (or the hallway conversation they're in)
- Badges and event materials — the tangible stuff people keep long after the talks end
- Villages and hands-on spaces — lockpicking, Meshtastic, and whatever else the community brings
- A stage for first-time speakers — the A/V, rooms, and logistics that make someone's first talk possible
Sponsorship opportunities
Four things we need help with. No tiers, no packages — just the actual needs.
AM Donuts / Coffee / Breakfast Sponsor
Fuel the morning. Hackers arrive early, and caffeine plus donuts is how a room full of strangers becomes a community by 9 AM.
noon Lunch Sponsor
Feed the whole conference at midday. Keeping everyone on-site for lunch is where half the best conversations — and more than a few collaborations — actually happen.
badge Wearable Badge Sponsor
Help us put a proper badge on every attendee. At a BSides, the badge is part of the culture — it's the artifact people wear all day and keep on the shelf for years.
signs Banners / Logos Sponsor
Cover the signage and printed materials that make the event feel like an event — wayfinding, room signs, and banners across the venue.
Community impact
Huntsville is a city where students, hackers, and rocket scientists live a few miles apart but rarely end up in the same room. BSides Rocket City is that room.
Your sponsorship gives a high schooler their first lockpicking lesson, a college student their first fifteen-minute lightning talk, and a career changer their first real conversation with someone who does this work every day. It strengthens the pipeline between local classrooms and the aerospace, defense, and security work that defines this region — not someday, but on one Saturday in March, in person, for free.
That's the whole model: the community shows up, sponsors keep the lights on, and everyone leaves knowing more than they arrived with.
- Sponsors may be recognized on our website and select event materials, with our thanks.
- On-site sponsor advertising stays minimal and tasteful. This is a community conference, not a trade show floor.
- Sponsorship is community support, not influence. Sponsors don't control talks, the CFP, speaker selection, or the agenda.
- Everyone — including sponsors — submits through the same CFP and gets evaluated the same way.
If that model sounds right to you, you're exactly who we want to work with.
